Being different is an evolutionary advantage.
Thought patterns are all different. We think differently.
Our pattern of thinking differs, from person to person.
This is not a Disadvantage. It is an Advantage.
Given the world of relativity in which we exist, nothing that we perceive is likely to be inherently true. When we are surrounded by others and find that we are seeing things differently, that is an opportunity to try very hard to see what the other person is perceiving.
If you can do that, and then reconcile it with what you have perceived, you may find the middle ground, and in all likelihood that will be much closer to the truth than either of you have perceived. Is there one thing, one point, on which you both can agree?
I have had the advantage of going through most of my life seeing things from the opposite perspective of almost everyone around me. It's very easy to think and feel like you're not very smart when you can't see what other people see. One day I realized they can't see what I'm seeing either. I began to work overtime on seeing life from other peoples perspective's and then finding something in which we could all agree. It's exhausting!
At the end of the day I was wiped out. But my inner I / Eye opened. I became more attuned and more sensitive and began to pick up and see other thoughts and vibrations including peoples feelings. I also became more vulnerable to them and had to learn how to deal and survive in this "New World" that I had discovered. My sensitivity to it was both an advantage and a disadvantage.
Many times now I offer my opposing view, just to give others a chance to have that same experience. It's by sharing views and trying to understand others that we come closer to each other and to reality.
People attack what they don't understand, so each time I offer a dissenting view, the mob mentality kicks in because most people love to be on the winning side of a good argument. There are also a few who try to see where I'm coming from. Good for them.
Remember truth is a sliding scale in relativity. It's not surprising that we have different views. You are the key to my finding the truth. Without you, I am lost with a broken compass. That is why it is not good for man to be alone.
