Forgiveness and Karma

The Debt that can never be repaid. It is a heavy burden.

There are some things, no matter what we endure in terms of karmic repercussions, no matter what amends we make, there is no way to atone for our sins.

Recognizing this, we find we are bound forever to the karmic scales of justice.

There is only one payment that will cut the karmic ties, erase the karmic debt completely.

If you would be forgiven, then you must learn to forgive. Just as giving is receiving, doing unto others as you would have them do to you, karma is bound by the cyclical laws of the universe. Only he or she who can forgive can be forgiven.

This was the hidden message for those who have ears to hear. "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."

Many believe forgiveness is the easy way out. Once you understand it, you will know it is never easy. It is the only Way.

The Internal Compass

The internal compass is a set-point from which you can deviate only temporarily. At each change of circumstance, each opportunity to make a new decision, you will return to your innate truth, your prime goal and direction.

Others may confuse you, alter your course, but you will always set sail when each new day breaks to your home harbor.

This destination is programmed within you. It is your heart's desire and destiny and nothing can stop this.  If you sense that you currently are off track, you will ultimately redirect. We each have a course.  It is a requirement and each destiny must be fulfilled.

What appears to be losses along the way, even random acts of fate, everything you experience is there to prod, push, and pull.

You are on a journey. Along the way you will have adventures. Your role and participation in each set of circumstances will lead to new treasure for you to bring home:  Pearls of wisdom, gems of truth, golden friendships...

Sometimes you will lose that which you treasure. You may find it was fools gold, or you may have to repeat the lesson at some ports until you gain an enrichment of understanding or compassion. When you are ready, and sometimes when you think you are not ready, you will be off to the next destination.

In each life there are gains and losses. The sailor is the mind and the sea is one of consciousness.

religion

Separation of Church and State. The line is constantly blurred and forever challenged in the U.S.

Some nations are founded on religion. The US is not a religious state.

In Israel, the Jewish state, the nation was founded as a safe-harbor for Jews after the holocaust. Religious disparity, even within the ranks of Jews is a source of infighting and in some cases extreme violence in Israel today. The first problem is having a "minister in charge of religious affairs." This reflects the core belief that religion and matters involving religious beliefs are a function of the government. The second problem is when there is only one accepted religion in the state. This creates religious castes at best and threatened sub groups at worst. The surrounding Islamic-ruled nations are an extreme example of such religious oppression.  Alternate religious groups are persecuted and women live subservient, suppressed lives in the religious lands. People are ruled under ancient laws.  While their society is more modern, Israel cannot see it is just another tree in the forest.  It's Jewish citizens enjoy greater rights and privileges based on their religion.

Secular countries have social, economic, ethnic and religious distinctions as well. The difference is a ruling social order is not in permanent control of government. There is a constant tug of war for control and certainly the wealthy have their influence as well as religious groups and other lobbyists affecting politics. If any one group were to seize absolute control, oppression would result and social castes would form.

Religion and spirituality are often not the same. At its best, religion can lead to spiritual life and for that reason I respect most religions, but only when they inspire men to be their best. Right now, we don't see enough of that.
